History

Davern Workwear Ltd was incorporated in 1974, although had been trading for approximately 10 years prior to this date.

By the mid 1980's, Davern's manufacturing department had gone from strength to strength, and employed over 300 staff at our factories in March and Wisbech, manufacturing outdoor clothing and a large range of workwear.

In the early 2000's, Davern Workwear, along with most other major clothing manufacturers transferred production off-shore. Whilst most of our competitors moved production to the Far East, including China, India and Pakistan, we decided to relocate to Eastern Europe. This gave us extra flexibility in manufacturing, and improved speed of delivery, whilst retaining very competitive prices.

We have retained our 100,000 sq/ft premises in March, Cambridgeshire, as head office and call centre, and have converted our sewing factories to storage areas, containing our off-shore production with stock standing in excess of £3,000,000. We currently employ about 450 staff in Ukraine, and 60 staff in Cambridgeshire, UK.
